Professor Peter Selby

Professor Selby has held programme grants from Cancer Research UK, the European Research Council, and NIHR in the area of biomarker and proteomics research, biotherapy and clinical and patient centered research for 25 years. He has authored over 500 publications and held £50 million in external funding. He is President of the Association of Cancer Physicians, an NIHR Senior Investigator, President of the European Cancer Concord and a member of Council and the Research Strategy Committee of Cancer Research UK. He has extensive experience of clinical trials and in the development of Research Networks in the NHS. He currently practices in urological cancer using protein biomarkers for clinical practice on a daily basis. He has been awarded a CBE, DSc, FMedSci and the Pfizer Excellence in Oncology Prize and the British Psychosocial Oncology Lifetime Achievement Award. He was Consultant Advisor to the Chief Medical Officer responsible for developing policy on Clinical Networks for cancer care.
