Dr Jones is a Consultant Hepatologist at St James’s University Hospital. She is Lead Clinician for the Department of Hepatology which provides supra-regional liver transplant, acute liver failure, complex hepatology and viral hepatitis services, in addition to providing a general hepatology outpatient service to the local population. She has been a consultant since 2003, and has expertise in all areas of hepatology. In addition she founded and now leads the regional hepatology clinical network (Yorkshire and the Humber Liver Network), and in 2011 received a grant of £80,000 on behalf of the network from the Department of Health for further development in recognition of this innovative approach to liver services and patient care region-wide. She has basic science training with a PhD in tumour immunology and clinical trial research experience. She now leads a department with a growing strength in clinical trial recruitment and participation and has the full support of the CLRN lead for hepatology in West Yorkshire.
