Diagnostics in times of change
The 2017 UK Diagnostic Forum was held in Oxford and hosted by NIHR DEC Oxford. This year’s theme was “Diagnostics in times of change”

Helen Radford, NIHR DEC Leeds Operational & Scientific Manager and Beth Shinkins, NIHR DEC Leeds Methodological Lead attended the two-day event, which brought together representatives from industry, academia and the NHS. Several key note speakers presented material, including Doris Ann Williams from the British In-vitro Diagnostics Association (BIVDA) whose presentation, “What will leaving the EU mean for life science in the UK?” provided a unique insight and lively discussion.

Other key presentations included: “The use of diagnostics in addressing antimicrobial resistance” delivered by Fiona Carragher, Deputy Chief Scientific officer, NHS England and “New Models of Care” by Samantha Jones, Vanguard CEO.
